Tirupati: District Superintendent of Police L Subba Rayudu advised the newly recruited police constables to perform their duties with discipline, honesty and responsibility. He addressed 90 Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (SCTPCs), who completed their basic training, at a meeting here on Wednesday.
The SP said discipline, punctuality, alertness, dedication and team spirit are the essential qualities for police personnel, adding that police uniform represents an opportunity to serve society and protect people. He stated that newly recruited constables should become a source of strength to the department and work sincerely to maintain law and order.
Subba Rayudu asked them to listen patiently to the grievances of victims and provide assistance within the law. He said responsible behaviour was more important than displaying authority and urged them to maintain public confidence in the police. He directed officials to organise a special 45-day training-cum-job programme covering foot patrolling, cordon and search operations, vehicle checks, drunk-driving checks, crime prevention, bandobust duties, public coordination and digital technology.
The new recruits were also instructed to follow probation rules, discipline regulations and police conduct guidelines and were cautioned to use social media carefully, stating that mistakes in uniform could affect the department’s reputation.
