Reinstate 40 sacked staff: CITU
A delegation of CITU leaders led by district general secretary K Murali met Railway Chief Mechanical Engineer (RCME) R K Jain
Tirupati: A delegation of CITU leaders led by district general secretary K Murali met Railway Chief Mechanical Engineer (RCME) R K Jain here on Saturday and submitted a representation seeking reinstatement of 40 outsourcing employees working in Tirupati Railway Station, who were removed by the Contractor Dorairajulu Naidu.
RCME Jain was here on an inspection of the Carriage Repair Shop (CRS) near here. CITU leaders Murali and K N N Prasad said the outsourcing employees with 14 years' service as cleaning staff in Tirupati Railway station, were removed by the contractor Dorairajulu Naidu 45 days back ignoring their services in the difficult period of Covid period.
The contractor was blacklisted following serious allegations of misappropriation of about Rs one crore collected from the workers for payment of benefits like ESI. RCME assured CITU leaders that he will look into the issues brought in the representation and do justice to the workers.
