Srivari annual Brahmotsavams commence with sacred Dhwajarohanam ceremony

Tirumala: Marking the auspicious beginning of the nine-day spiritual extravaganza, the annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy commenced with the grand and ceremonious Dhwajarohanam flag-hoisting ritual at the Srivari temple in Tirumala on Tuesday evening.

Performed in strict accordance with Vaikhanasa Agama guidelines during the auspicious Meena Lagnam between 6:21 p.m. and 6:35 p.m., the ceremony drew immense devotion.

Prior to the flag-hoisting, festivities began with a magnificent procession carrying Sri Malayappa Swamy alongside His consorts, Sridevi and Bhudevi, on the Golden Tiruchi, accompanied by Parivara Devatas.

The Dhwaja Patam, bearing the sacred image of Garudalwar, was brought into the temple for special pujas before an Asthanam was held for the processional deities at the Tirumalaraya Mandapam.

According to tradition, Garuda—the ardent devotee and foremost servant of Lord Venkateswara—journeys across all worlds to invite celestial deities to participate in the Brahmotsavams.

Amidst the resonant chanting of Garuda Gadyam and Garuda Churnika by Vedic scholars, the Garuda flag was ceremonially hoisted atop the golden temple mast.
