Digital platform for Jeevandan
Vijayawada: Dr V Manmadha Rao, Director of VIMS, Visakhapatnam, and Chief Transplant Coordinator of Jeevandan, Andhra Pradesh, said the State government was strengthening the coordination, monitoring and transparency of deceased-donor organ transplantation through a new digital platform.
He said in a statement here on Friday that the State Government has launched the Jeevandan–Andhra Pradesh Cadaver Transplantation Monitoring Web Application to improve the monitoring of transplantation-related activities and facilitate coordination among hospitals and other institutions. The application has been developed with technical support from the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
Dr Rao said the new application marked an important step in strengthening the digital infrastructure supporting organ transplantation in the State. It would provide a systematic mechanism for monitoring various activities and improving coordination among institutions involved in the transplantation process.
He explained that organ transplantation involved several interconnected procedures, including brain-death declaration, donor-related approvals, recipient registration and organ allocation.
Citizens can visit the official Jeevandan–Andhra Pradesh website, https://jeevandan.ap.gov.in/, to obtain information about the programme and register as organ donors through the donor card facility.
