Vijayawada: Endowments Department Commissioner K Ramachandra Mohan inspected the Ghat Road leading to Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada on Sunday and reviewed the safety measures being taken following recent heavy rains. He inspected the stretches where landslides had occurred due to the heavy rainfall and reviewed the protective measures being undertaken by the temple authorities.
The Commissioner directed officials to take up immediate safety measures on a priority basis, keeping the safety of devotees as the foremost consideration during the forthcoming Dasara festivities. He instructed the authorities to strictly implement the recommendations of the Inspection Committee and complete the prescribed protective works.
Ramachandra Mohan also stressed the need to focus on permanent solutions to prevent recurrence of landslides in the future, along with temporary safety measures being taken for the Dasara rush. He directed the temple authorities to submit a comprehensive compliance report immediately after completion of the prescribed safety measures.
