Visakhapatnam: DGM (Operations) of Blast Furnace, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited Karri Srinivas, donated his rare O-negative blood for the 59th time in Visakhapatnam. Responding to an emergency requirement raised by a private hospital, Srinivas reached out to Md Khammar, who’s undergoing treatment for a kidney-related ailment and acute anaemia.
The patient hails from Vizianagaram. Upon receiving information from the hospital authorities, Srinivas volunteered for the cause. “When I received a call from the patient’s son, I immediately rushed to the hospital to donate a unit,” said Srinivas. Karri Srinivas has been donating his rare blood group since the age of 24. He said that being part of the ‘friends2support.org’ app came in handy to reach out to several patients in dire need of blood.
