Visakhapatnam: The three-day Dr MVVS Murthi National Moot Court Competition concluded here on Saturday. High Court Judge Justice Y Lakshmana Rao was the chief guest.
The national-level competition saw participation from 34 law colleges across the country. Following a rigorous display of legal acumen in the finals.
Symbiosis Law School (Pune) emerged as a winner, while Bhopal Law University was the runner-up.
Best Researcher was awarded to S Ramachandra Rao of Dr BR Ambedkar College of Law, Andhra University, while Best Speaker was awarded to Ashna Pabha of Lloyd School of Law.
Best Memorial Award was given to students of the School of Legal Studies, Kerala. Congratulating the winners, Justice Y Lakshmana Rao advised young graduates to take up the legal profession with a profound sense of social responsibility. He emphasised the importance of remaining lifelong learners to continuously expand their legal knowledge.
Noting the abundant career opportunities available to modern law graduates, Justice Lakshmana Rao highlighted that moot court competitions serve as excellent preparatory ground for those entering the legal field and urged students to actively participate in them.
The event, hosted at the GITAM Deemed to be University School of Law campus, witnessed participation from the institution’s Pro Vice Chancellor Y Gouthama Rao, Manoj Kumar Sinha (Vice-Chancellor of Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur), and R Venkata Rao (Vice-Chancellor of India International University of Legal Education and Research, Goa).
