In Short

Jayashankar Bhupalpally: MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao said the Congress government was committed to the welfare of Singareni workers and the development of Bhupalpally town, with several initiatives planned to address workers’ concerns and improve public infrastructure.
He said the government was taking steps to make Singareni bear employees’ income tax burden, reinstate 300 dismissed workers and provide house sites of up to 250 square yards to workers’ families. A Dasara bonus of Rs.1,754 crore was announced for workers this year, amounting to approximately Rs.1.53 lakh per employee. New open-cast projects are also expected to generate employment opportunities.
The MLA said efforts were underway to strengthen healthcare facilities at the Bhupalpally area hospital by bringing specialist doctors and establishing a catheterisation laboratory and cardiac unit. Medical coverage of up to Rs.12 lakh was also among the proposals. For Bhupalpally town, Rs.73 crore has been allocated for road widening and junction development. Plans include a 200-foot road from Ambedkar Centre to OCETU and an 80-foot road towards Krishnakali Singareni Ground. Rao urged residents to cooperate with the works.
He added that Rs.3 crore had been earmarked for junior college development, including classrooms, basic facilities and two buses. Further projects would be supported through DMFT and CSR funds.
