Nagaraju demands CEC’s resignation, announces all-party rally on Oct 7
Warangal: Wardhannapet MLA and retired IPS officer KR Nagaraju on Sunday demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, stating that the Election Commission must address growing concerns over the electoral process. Addressing an all-party meeting at Pochamma Maidan, chaired by district Congress president Mohammed Ayub, Nagaraju said elections were the foundation of democracy and stressed that governments elected through the people’s votes represented the true will of the people. Nagaraju said the right to vote was a constitutional right and called for complete transparency in electoral rolls, voting rights and the conduct of elections. He urged the Election Commission to provide equal opportunities to all political parties and clarify doubts concerning voters’ rights. He announced that an all-party rally would be organised from Pochamma Maidan to the Ambedkar statue in Hanamkonda on October 7. He appealed to the public and democratic organisations to participate in large numbers. CPI State secretary Thakkallapalli Srinivas, Venkata Rajyam, Siluveru Srinivas, Vanam Mahender, Sheikh Bashmia, Maloth Sagara, Hakeem Naveed and other political leaders attended the meeting.
