Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav
Orchha: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday outlined his government’s vision for promoting religious tourism, preserving cultural heritage, and driving inclusive development during the Bharatiya Janata Party’s two-day state working committee meeting held in Orchha, renowned for the Ramraja (Lord Ram) Sarkar temple.
Speaking here, the Chief Minister highlighted the transformative impact of major pilgrimage projects and announced further initiatives across the state.
CM Yadav said that following the construction of Shri Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain, the city’s economy has undergone a major transformation with a significant rise in the number of pilgrims.
Along the same lines, Shri Ram Lok is being constructed here with a comprehensive development plan.
He said Madhya Pradesh’s major pilgrimage sites will be undertaken to promote religious tourism and generate new local employment opportunities.
Recalling that Lord Shri Ram spent 12 of his 14 years of exile in Chitrakoot, the Chief Minister emphasised that preserving and connecting the state’s glorious religious and cultural heritage with future generations remains a priority. In this regard, the magnificent Shri Ram Raja Lok is being constructed in Orchha, which will emerge as a major pilgrimage destination for devotees from across the country and the world.
He noted that Orchha, once the capital of Bundelkhand and home to the illustrious Bundela kings, houses old structures and buildings that represent the region’s rich heritage.
The government is working to revive and develop these sites by rebuilding them with the same materials originally used, thereby preserving their authentic form. Skilled local artisans are actively engaged in this restoration effort.
CM Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh holds special importance in the cultural thought of Bharat. The BJP believes in mutual cooperation and mutual respect rather than divisiveness.
According to a political resolution passed on Sunday, in the past one year, 13 crore people visited the state, the highest number among all Indian states. Ujjain, the cultural capital, hosted 139 days of cultural programmes this year, including prestigious conferences and performances of classical traditions staged in several cities.
Three cultural traditions of Madhya Pradesh -- Bhagirathi dance of the Bhil tribe, Gaddu Tikhantrikali and Namde Parikrama -- have been included in India’s National Heritage list.
A magnificent Saraswati Lok will also be developed in the Bhojshala campus in Dhar, along with the establishment of a Rajbhasha Sadhana Sthan.
The state working committee, which started on August 30, resolved that the BJP will work with full commitment to make Madhya Pradesh agriculturally prosperous, industrially strong, intellectually vibrant, youth-oriented, socially harmonious, culturally proud and governed by effective administration.
Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India by 2047, the party reaffirmed its resolve to build a developed Madhya Pradesh.
