Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Milia Islamia, Najma Akhtar held a press conference on Monday 16 December 2019. She says that she is very hurt by seeing condition of Jamia students. VC said that Delhi Police has entered the campus without permission and started hurting the students who were sitting in the Library.
I'm feeling very hurt by seeing condition of my Jamia students. VC said that Delhi Police has entered the campus without permission and started hurting the students who were sitting in I'm accost to my Jamia student and they're not alone in this tough situation. Jamia family and I are standing with you and I'll take this incident as high as possible. Don't panic you students are not alone and don't get disheartened. Also, don't believe and spread any kind of wrong news or rumours. We were all together in Jamia and we will stay together. – said VC of Jamia
She also said that there has been a lot of property damage on the university campus. How will all this be compensated? Yesterday's incident was unfortunate and has been a big emotional loss.
She had demanded a high-level inquiry into the crackdown on the students. She said Jamia Milia Islamia will not tolerate any kind of presence of police on campus.
