The Collector assured that the district authority will lend any help to support the coaching centre. “It is important to have a coaching centre for the UPSC examinations. Earlier, there were institutes in Delhi. Later cities like Patna, Chennai and Hyderabad have instituted themselves with challenging results. Visakhapatnam is also another centre with coaching expertise for the UPSC examinations. Career counselling is as important as making a candidate nail it. Faculty should ensure that candidates are made psychologically strong,” he added.

MLA Gadde Rammohan said, “With the advent of corporate institutions Vijayawada emerged as an education hub a decade ago. Students of Telangana and northern States fly down to Vijayawada to pursue education at various levels. Such is the potentiality of the place. Having an IAS coaching centre is the need of the hour. This centre will cater to aspirants from Krishna, Guntur, and other nearby villages for their affordability.”

Chairman of Pragathi Institutions B Srinivasulu Rao said that the institution has embarked on this challenge to enable the local candidates to take a bigger leap into their dreams. “With full time faculty nearing 20 in number, the institution prepared a plan of action that imbibes knowledge and wisdom to the candidates. We have come up with a feature of having separate hostels for boys and girls for continuous monitoring.”

State general secretary of Arya Vysya association Darsi Vasu, former in-charge chairman of Durga Temple Abu Rao, director of the institution Prof. KS Tilak, directors S Vijay Kuamr Reddy and A Indira Vani, other faculty and students were present.
