Sreedharan submits DPRs for Vizag and Vijayawada Metros

Andhra Pradesh is now geared to promote metro rails at Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. Chief Minister Chandababu Naidu today received DPR reports from Sreedharan, the brain behind the Delhi metro and Metro Rail adviser to AP during a meeting at the Secretariat.

Sreedharan submitted Detailed Project Reports for Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam at the meeting in which Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu also participated.

As per the DPR there will be 26 km metro at Vijayawada and 39 kms at Visakhapatnam. Initially, Vijayawada will have a 13 km metro rail in the first phase linking with the CRDA and capital city Amaravati to the Gannavaram airport.
