Circle office and General Manager of Canara Bank P Sayi Babu said that Canara Bank is extending all kinds of banking services to the customers to promote cashless transactions. He added that both State and Central Governments are encouraging people to go for cashless transactions and Canara Bank is extending full support for the cause.

P Sayi Babu has inaugurated the Cashless awareness meeting conducted by Canara Bank in association with Walkers Club in Andhra Loyola college grounds on Wednesday morning. Addressing the occasion General Manager Sayi Babu said that Unified payment Interface (UPI), USSD, POS Terminal, Internet banking, Mobile Apps are getting very popular since the demonetisation of high value notes announced by Union Government on November 8.

He informed that Canara Bank Vijayawada circle stood first in India in turnover in the third quarter of the year from September to December, 2017. He mentioned the Canara Bank has so far conducted two meetings to create awareness on cashless transactions and the third meeting was conducted on Wednesday at Andhra Loyola College grounds.

He said that the customers can download the Apps easily in their mobiles and start cashless transactions. He added that checking cash balance, mini statements, cash transfers are very easy and any customers can do it with basic knowledge of mobile use. He said that Aadhar enabled payment system will be very useful and it can be operated with the help of thumb impression by the customers.

Deputy General Managers K Suseela, Babu Kurian, Walkers Association president Chalasani Gopala Rao, Secretary Srinivasa Raju and others participated in the awareness meet. The bank staff have explained the details of cashless transactions to the walkers and distributed pamphlets in this regard.
