South Central Railway (SCR) Vijayawada Division player K Sampath Kumar who represented the Indian Railway team bagged a gold medal in the 62nd Senior National Ball Badminton Championship which held at Moodbidri, Mangalore in Karnataka recently.
Sampath Kumar has been working as a Technician in the Electrical department in the city.
In the final match Indian Railway team beat Tamilnadu state team by 2-1 and bagged the Senior Ball Badminton Championship for the second consecutive year.
According to Divisional Sports Welfare Inspector N Arjuna Rao, Sampath gave an outstanding game in the final match and contributed a fantastic performance for the Indian Railways team.
Divisional Railway Manager of the city(DRM) Ashok Kumar, Additional DRM K Venugopal, Senior DEE Vara Prasad and Divisional Sports Officer J Pradeep Kumar congratulated the gold medal winner.
