Vijayawada: “People suffering from stress and pressure will be relieved from painting activity. Besides the routine work, one can opt for painting which is a good stress and pressure reliever,” said an artiste from Hyderabad Uma Kiran Kumar. peaking to `The Hans India,’ Uma said she was a secondary school faculty at Gitanjali School in Hyderabad and teaches chemistry and mathematics.
She quit the job and took up sketching as a distressing activity, as she was good at painting since her childhood. She joined Kalanidhi Institute and undergone a crash course on painting and art by Anantha Narayana. She learnt how to use colours in the course.
She explained that more than 300 paintings had been done in last couple of years using oil and acrylic paints on canvas. Oil painting on canvas gives more effect on detailed works. She had done many contemporary works and participated in many art exhibitions, state art galleries and news art galleries. She participated in Chitra Kala Santha for the first time and was happy to be a part of the exhibition.
