parentsAnantapuramu: Parents should monitor their children closely to check any health problems and should provide medical treatment to gift them with a healthy future, said Dr Sake Sailajanath, Minister for Primary Education. He, as the chief guest, inaugurated the State-sponsored 'Chinnari Chupu' programme held at KSR Government Girls Junior College in Anantapuramu on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government has implemented the scheme with the aim of conducting eye tests to students of first to 10th class to protect their vision by providing treatment, if needed. So far, eye tests were conducted to 85 lakh students and eye glasses were provided to five lakh students, he added. Eye operations have been conducted to the children who needed operations in hospitals, he further said. District additional Joint Collector BL Chennakesava Rao, RVM PO Ramarao, Market Yard Chairman Narayana Reddy, College Princiapal Chandrasekhar Rao, Pushpagiri Eye Hospital representative Karunakar, Dr Bhasker, Physically Disabled Welfare Department AD Somireddy and others took part in the programme.
