The Home Minister was taking up important files at her residence after her name figured in the CBI chargesheet. Hyderabad: Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, who stayed away from her office for 20 days ever since her name figured in the chargesheet filed by CBI in Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, visited the Secretariat on Saturday. Her presence in the Secretariat came as a surprise to many amidst speculations that either she was on her way out from the Cabinet or to be shifted to another portfolio. Home Minister, who came to the office, spent some time and looked after some files. Since her name figured in the chargesheet, Sabitha performed her duties from her residence only. About 15,000 files were piled up in the last 20 days as about 800 to 1,000 files come to the home department daily. Informed sources said that Sabitha, who at one stage had decided to submit her resignation, was convinced against it by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Even her cabinet colleagues cited the example of Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao, who has been looking after his department after he was allegedly accused in the same case.
