TDP women's wing demands action against IRS official, CI

Hyderabad: Demanding action against Indian Revenue Services officer Veerabhadram and Balanagar police inspector Srinivas Reddy for allegedly harassing a woman employee, the Telugu Desam women's wing staged a protest in front of DGP office here on Saturday. Shoba Hymavathi, president, TDP women's wing submitted a representation to chief security officer in the absence of police chief V Dinesh Reddy.

Later talking to reporters, Shoba demanded that the government officials should be tried under Nirbhaya Act for playing with the life of an innocent woman. It is such a shame that government employees in responsible posts were resorting to such acts, she felt. It may be mentioned here that a Telugu news channel exposed the alleged torture of a woman employee by the IRS officer Veerabhadram with the help of Balanagar CI Srinivasa Reddy and another government employee named Swamy Goud. Visuals of Veerabhadram beating up the woman and abusing her while the two were looking on as mute spectators and three of them consuming liquor in the woman's house were also telecast.
