Guntur/Ongole: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday accused Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababu Naidu of having conspired to thwart the passage of SC/ST Sub-Plan bill in the Assembly. YSR Congress Party, TRS and Left parties joined his bandwagon, he alleged.
Addressing various meetings in Guntur and Prakasam districts as part of educating the people on the SC/ST Sub-plan, the Chief Minister said the people would teach a fitting lesson to them in the ensuing elections. He told the SCs and the STs in Mulaguntapadu in Singarayakonda mandal in Prakasam district that the government would build pucca houses for them under the Sub-Plan. He called upon them to reject those who were making fun of welfare schemes introduced by his government for the benefit of the poor.
The Chief Minister also lashed out at the opposition leader and said the people were not prepared to believe his lies even though he repeated them every day. "Babu will not get votes in the State as the people have seen through his game. Now he should try for votes in Odisha," he said.
Some Telugu Desam workers under the leadership of Damacharla Janardhan planned to create a flutter at the public meeting at Mulaguntapadu. But, police arrested them before they could reach the venue of the meeting and shifted them Ulavapadu police station.
In Guntur district, some TDP leaders, who were planning to stop the CM's convoy to demand action against 'tainted' ministers, were arrested by police.
