Two-day dharna to express solidarity with TJAC's Chalo Sansad

New Delhi : Five Telangana Congress MPs on Monday commenced 48-hour-long sit-in dharna at the main entrance of parliament. It started at 11 am on Monday and it will conclude at 11 am on Wednesday. The sit-in is being staged to show solidarity for the two-day dharna being held by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) at Jantar-Mantar.

Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj came to greet the Telangana Congress MPs and expressed her support to their cause. Sushma Swaraj is also expected to visit the venue of TJAC dharna at Jantar-Mantar on Tuesday.A The five Telangana Congress MPs � Manda Jagannatham, Ponnam Prabhakar, G Vivek, Gutta Sukhender Reddy and S Rajaiah � started the sit-in dharna amid fanfare. Leaders of BJP, JD (U), Akali Dal, INLD and BSP, besides DPCC president J P Aggarwal came to greet them at Parliament House and express their solidarity with them.

Manda Jagannatham told The Hans India that this is not a hunger-strike but only a silent protest. It is a way of showing solidarity with the TJAC.A Manda Jagannatham said that the entire exercise was aimed at strengthening the Congress in Telangana. "There is no other motive," he explained. The Telangana Congress MPs are trying to reach out to the people of Telangana and connect with them, with a view to strengthening the Congress in Telangana.
