Seemandhra stir: AP plunges into darkness

People of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema had to bear the brunt of the Samaikyandhra agitation. Power crisis hit the two regions the most after the staff from the electricity boards decided not to withdraw their strike against division of state. It's worth mentionin here that the employees of the state power generation went on an indefinite strike fro Sunday.

This hit power situation in the state hard, particularly coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. As a result, several trains were cancelled. Situation in Visakhapatnam was no better. Anxious residents called up TV channels and power stations in a futile attempt to draw attention to their power woes.
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is expected to hold talks with the striking employees on Wednesday to convince them to call off their agitation. Till then, a major part of Andhra Pradesh will continue to remain in dark.
