Vijayamma demands waiver of crop loans

YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma has demanded the government to waive all crop loans obtained by farmers in the district, considering the losses that they had suffered due to incessant rains over the last five days. She visited some of the rain-hit areas in Krishna district on Sunday and consoled the victims.

Vijayamma demanded payment of minimum compensation of Rs 10,000 per hectare to the affected farmers, apart from loan waiver. She mentioned that she would write to the Centre seeking setting up of centers to procure cotton and raise the issue in the Assembly. She assured farmers; including tenants, of fair compensation should YSRCP come to power in the next elections. She visited Anumanchipalli, Chillapallu, Mullapadu and SK Mohammad Pet areas in Jaggiah Pet mandal. Later, she proceeded to Raghavapuram in Nandigama and then came to Vijayawada.
