Six persons, including three of a family, died after their DCM van rammed into a stationary van parked on Outer Ring Road at Raidurgam in the early hours of Tuesday. Sixteen others travelling in the van sustained injuries and were shifted to nearby hospitals. They were returning to Hyderabad from Bidar, Karnataka after attending a private function.
According to Raidurgam Inspector A Bala Koti, the accident occurred around 4.45 am at Vattinagulapally as the DCM van driver Dastagiri could not see the stationary van, which was parked to replace one of its punctured tyres, and crashed into it. Along with the 25-year-old driver, Mahboob Khan (55), Moulana Bee (45), and Tamreen (12) were crushed to death. Two others succumbed while undergoing treatment at a hospital. They were all residents of Rajendranagar. The bodies were shifted to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy. Investigation is on.
