JC: We want Rayalaseema to be Rayala-Telangana

Senior Congress leader, Tadipatri MLA JC Diwakar Reddy gave his suggestion to the union government if it was really firm on going ahead with the state bifurcation.

Anchoring a meeting at Anantapur in support of ‘Rayala-Telangana’, he said he will lead the next agitation as a senior rayalaseema MLA.
JC argued that the Rayalaseema divison would cause permanent damage to the people of Anantapur district if no safeguards were provided on various fronts. JC also appealed to the Union government to carve out Rayala-Telangana consisting of Anantapur and Kurnool districts besides the 10 districts of the Telangana region.
“By doing this , the key issue of drinking water can be resolved to an extent as any government would have to provide the basic needs of its people,” JC said and argued that any government of the Rayala-Telangana State would have to supply the drinking water needs of the people of Anantapur district.
He also gave another suggestion that even if that is not possible, he demanded that the Union government, locate the capital of the State of Andhra Pradesh at Kurnool.
On this note DCC president Madhusudhan Gupta alleged that Congress leaders are feeling betrayed as the High Command took a one-sided decision and chose to bifurcate the State even if it was at the cost of the people of the Rayalaseema region.
He also said that the existing meeting's proposals and the struggle for the sake of Rayala Seema region would be taken to the next level in a meeting which is going to commence at Anantapur on November 21 in a massive public gathering of, political parties and representatives.
“It shall be our attempt to try and reach peace on the issue of division and thereby put up a united front,” said Madhusudhan Gupta.
