Hyderabad: APNGOs state president P Ashok Babu said on Tuesday that there was no consensus on any of the 11 issues taken up by the Group of Ministers (GoM) on the division of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing media persons on Tuesday, Ashok Babu said that GoM itself had no clarity on the 11 issues concerning the State’s bifurcation and the members of GoM were not heeding suggestions and pleas to stall the bifurcation process.

Referring to the appointments sought from different national leaders, he said that the APNGO leaders wanted to meet the former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the first week of December to seek support from them for keeping the State as united.

He said that many of the national leaders started understanding the problems that the Seemandhra region would face if the State was bifurcated.

Ashok Babu alleged that the Union Ministers from Seemandhra had already given up the fight on the pleas as the Centre was in no mood to reverse its decision.

“They (central ministers) should sit only in Delhi if they are unable to check the division.

But, it is not proper on their party to make statements in favour of State division,” he said, adding that the people of Seemandhra would certainly seal the fate of these politicians if they failed to mend their ways.
