Hyderabad: BJP State chief G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday dismissed news reports of a possible poll alliance with TRS ahead of next general elections.
The saffron party, he said, would contest all seats in the States on its own, he stressed and said that it was too early to talk about electoral understandings, considering the present volatile situation in the State.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that the national leadership would not take any decision on poll alliance without taking him into confidence.
When asked about the State TDP leaders statements that poll alliance with BJP was almost finalised, he said that even that was not correct. Telugu Desam, he said, would be relegated to residuary Andhra Pradesh State after division with no stake in Telangana region.
Lalu’s Rashtriya Janata Dal, Mulayam’s Samajwadi Party and Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party were dictating terms only in their States and did not have a major presence in rest of the country. Same would be the situation of the Telugu Desam here, the BJP chief said.
He also denied giving a report on poll prospects with TDP to national president Rajnath Singh on behalf of the state unit. To a query on saffron party’s stand when the Telangana bill came up for discussion in Assembly, he said that they would only want creation of Telangana with 10 districts, as resolved by the CWC.
