Hyderabad: The battle between Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Congress high command over the issue of bifurcation of the state is likely to enter a crucial phase on December 7 when Kiran Reddy is likely to announce his future course of action. According to sources, Kiran will be inaugurating the K L Rao Sagar (Pulichintala Project) on the River Krishna in Guntur district on December 7 where he is likely to address a mammoth public rally.

Efforts are on to mobilise a huge crowd of two to three lakh farmers from Krishna delta area. Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and other leaders from the district have been asked to take up the responsibility to mobilse the people for the meeting. The Pulichintala project, it may be mentioned, has been designed to stabilise irrigation facilities for 10 lakh acres in Krishna delta comprising Krishna, West Godavari, Guntur and Prakasam districts.

The Pulichintala project was supposed to be inaugurated on August 15 but was postponed in view of sudden floods. It was again postponed on October 30 as heavy rains played a spoil sport.

Later, the government wanted to inaugurate the project on November 30 but had to postpone it again due to cyclone Lehar.
