Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party supremo Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday took potshots at Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu for his remarks against him at the Prajagarjana programme held at Tirupati on Sunday.
In a statement, Jagan alleged that it was Naidu who had entered into a tie-up with the Congress party and was cooperating with the Centre in the process of State’s division.
Jagan said, “This is a fight between Telugu self-pride and Delhi’s arrogance and Naidu has been helping Delhi to divide the State. This has become clear once again when Naidu, during his Prajagarjana, did not utter a single word on keeping the State united while over 70 per cent of the people in the State were opposing the move.” Jagan said that no State was ever divided without an Assembly resolution and national leaders had expressed solidarity with YSRCP on this issue.
“But Naidu does not see through this fallacy and never speaks of this anomaly. He is working in tandem with Sonia Gandhi and helping her in dividing the State at the earliest. She wants to divide the State to make her son Rahul Gandhi Prime Minister,” Jagan alleged.
He called upon the people to teach the “corrupt” Congress and “immoral” TDP a fitting lesson in the ensuing elections.
He said the political system was getting rotten. State leaders had become indifferent to burning issues and Sonia Gandhi had been playing with the future of Telugus.
“Value-based politics has become very rare. People remembering YSR four years after his death shows that he continues to be in the hearts of the people,” he felt.
