Seven injured in NACL blast
Seven injured in NACL blast, Accident at Nagarjuna Agro Chemicals Limited Factory. The injured were shifted to a hospital in the district headquarters. The locals alleged that officials were extending permission to NACL despite strong opposition.
Srikakulam: Seven persons were injured in an accident at Nagarjuna Agro Chemicals Limited (NACL) factory in Chilakapalem village of Etcherla mandal of Srikakulam district on Wednesday. According to sources the reactor in the third floor of the industrial complex exploded and fell down. A major accident was averted as the shift ended and only few workers were present at the time of the blast. The shrapnel and chemicals in the reactor caused injuries to the workers.
The injured were shifted to a hospital in the district headquarters. The locals alleged that officials were extending permission to NACL despite strong opposition. The workers vowed to harass the company management if financial assistance was not provided to the injured workers.
