Hyderabad: The APNGOs Association and its affiliate Samaikya Rashtra Parirakshana Vedika (SRPV) gave a call for ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ on January 22. Addressing the media persons, Association president P Ashok Babu said they were expecting thousands of people from Seemandhra region to participate in the dharna at Indira Park in the city.

The APNGOs had originally planned to organise ‘Chalo Assembly’ programme but later changed it to ‘Chalo Hyderabad’. Ashok Babu said the MLAs who were debating the Telangana Bill should press for voting on all the clauses and also demand withdrawal of the Bill.

If the legislators from Seemandhra region succeeded in making a powerful presentation against the State bifurcation, then it would become easy for the APNGOs to approach the Supreme Court opposing the Centre’s decision to carve out separate Telangana State, he added.

He said that they would meet BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the first week of February to highlight the problems that would arise from division of the State. The APNGOs would also oragnise ‘Chalo Parliament’ after the Bill was sent back to the President by the Assembly.
