The death of Esther Anuhya, whose decomposed body was found by the Mumbai police last week continues to be shrouded in mystery. Her father met Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday seeking justice in her murder case.

Esther's father Jonathan Prasad also urged Shinde to take all necessary steps to book the culprits and take stringent action against them.

The victim's father also lodged a complaint against the Maharastra police for irresponsible handling of case. Speaking to reporters, Anuhya's father said that Shinde promised to have a word with the Maharastra government. "The way I found the body of my daughter, I cannot express in my words. The culprits should be punished else they will strike another one," he said with tears rolling down from his eyes.

Anuhya's father was unhappy over Shinde giving him only two minutes time.

He is now planning to meet BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and Mahila Commission leaders.

It may be recalled that the 23-year-old software engineer was found murdered in Mumbai last week. The Mumbai police after preliminary investigations had arrested five persons, including a cab driver.

The initial probe revealed that the driver had diverted the vehicle from Mumbai Railway Station after Anuhya had got in. He took the help of four friends, including two cab drivers.

The five kept Anuhya in a locked house for five days and raped her continuously. They killed her and set the body on fire using acid, the Mumbai police said.
