Two engineers drown in Krishna, Sandeep Samson, Panduranga Rao, NTTPS. They all went on a pilgrimage to Amaravati on a boat from Ibrahimpatnam in Krishna district on Sunday.

Vijayawada: Two thermal station assistant engineers drowned in the river Krishna on Sunday evening near Vaikuntapuram in the Guntur district. Their bodies were fished out by a search and rescue team. They were identified as Sandeep Samson from Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station in Kadapa district and Panduranga Rao from NTTPS (Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station) here. They were part of the 12 recently appointed assistant engineers in Genco and Transco, who were undergoing training at NTTPS.

They all went on a pilgrimage to Amaravati on a boat from Ibrahimpatnam in Krishna district on Sunday. While returning, some of them went to the Sri Venkateswara Swami temple on a hillock at Vaikuntapuram. Sandeep Samson and Panduranaga Rao who did not wish to visit the temple, began swimming in the river and were washed away by the currents.
