Prez rule, a blot on democracy: Naidu

Hyderabad: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday stated that the imposition of President Rule in the State was a ‘blot’ on democracy. Naidu said the Congress pinned high hopes on YSRC Party and TRS and thought that it would be able to win majority seats in an indirect manner. But the way things were moving it appears that it fell in the ditch which it had dug by itself, he added.

Amity should prevail now: JP

Lok Satta Party national president Jayaprakash Narayan said there was no alternative to President’s rule in the murky circumstances prevailing in the State.

He hoped that amity and goodwill would be restored between people of Telangana and Seemandhra at least under the President’s rule.

Decision unfortunate, says YSRCP

YSRCP leader MV Mysura Reddy said it was an unfortunate decision.

It was a clear indication that the Congress party was on the verge of extinction in the State and country, he added.

CPI state secretary K Naryana strongly condemned the decision to impose President Rule ahead of general elections.

No other alternative, feels Raghavulu

However, CPI (M) supported imposition of the President Rule.

Patry’s state secretary B V Raghavulu said that in the present circumstances there was no other alternative before the Centre.
