Hyderabad: Asaduddin Owaisi, Member of Parliament of MIM Party on Sunday challenged BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi to contest from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat in the impending general elections 2014 for Lok Sabha.

Owaisi, speaking at the 56th anniversary of MIM’s fortification said that he would go round the entire nation to campaign against Modi. He said that Modi’s popularity was mere buildup created by the Sangh Parivar and added that if Modi was confident about his attractiveness, he should contest and win from Hyderabad.

Asaduddin claimed that the MIM was invincible in Hyderabad and no political party had a candidate to contest against them. He also appealed to Muslims to join to defeat the communal forces and asked the MIM cadres to ensure optimal use of social media to ensure 80% polling in the next elections.

Meanwhile, Owaisi said he opposed giving the power of law and order of Hyderabad to the Governor. Further, he said that the Telangana Chief Minister will virtually have power only in eight districts as the GHMC will be under the Governor’s control. He said in general, a person loyal to the ruling party will be made Governor. If the BJP comes to power, Asaduddin wondered what would happen to the Muslim minorities. He said Governor’s rule was unconstitutional and he would challenge the same in the Supreme Court.

Asaduddin said there is a power breakdown in Hyderabad for six hours and there should be a special power project for Hyderabad to supply uninterrupted electricity. He demanded national status for Pranahita Chevella and also demanded drinking water from it to Hyderabad.
