2,000 Red Sander Logs Seized. Police seized more than 2,000 red sander logs from a godown near the national highway in Veldurthi on Monday.
Kurnool: Police seized more than 2,000 red sander logs from a godown near the national highway in Veldurthi on Monday. On March 1, Dhone police confiscated a lorry with red sanders and interrogated the driver, who gave them information about the 2,000 red sanders logs. SP Dr K Raghuram Reddy told the media that smuggling of red sanders was going on during the last five years in Kurnool, Nellore and Chittoor districts.
This was the first time that such huge quantity of logs was seized in the district. Three persons were taken into custody till now. He suspected the hand of big fish in such nefarious activity with smugglers’ help. The SP said that the police would take action against real culprits involved in the crime, after securing details from the detained persons.
