Nevertheless, deviating from the general trend, this time it is a totally dissimilar situation in Andhra Pradesh. Presided over the bifurcation of the state, several Congress MLAs and state and Union ministers have left the party after its headship. Also, those who are still in the party seem disinclined to enter the fray.

In Anantapur, the home district of AP PCC Chief N Raghu Veera Reddy, in as many as 127 wards Congress Party candidates didn’t file nominations, astoundingly. In a similar vein, in Godavari district also, as many as 198 wards didn’t get nominations for Municipal polls from Congress party.
