Hyderabad: Chandra Babu Naidu, the president of Telugu Desam Party has put off declaration of the party candidates to be fielded in the looming general election. Reportedly, it follows a word given by the BJP that the impasse over seat adjustment would be resolved in the last round of talks on Saturday.
It is learnt that the impasse over seat-sharing may be resolved on Saturday as the two party leaders decided to hold final round of talks. The two parties are keen to have a tie-up in either state.
Reportedly, as soon as TV channels flashed news that TDP would announce its first list of challengers late on Friday night, BJP national leaders M Venkaiah Naidu and Prakash Javdekar called TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu over telephone and convinced him to put on hold the release of the candidate lists. The BJP leaders expressed concern that such a declaration would send wrong signal as the tie-up between the two parties was yet to be finalized.
