Narayana Lauds Supreme Court Directive to CBI on Corrupt BabusHyderabad: CPI state secretary K Narayana welcomed the Supreme Court’s directive, which struck down the rule that the CBI requires to take the approval of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) before initiating inquiry into complaints of corruption against IAS officials. According to a press release, he lauded the efforts of the CBI in initiating inquiry immediately after the directive. He hoped that the CBI officials would act without any bias against the officials.

The CPI leader pointed out that until recently scores of cases against IAS officers were pending as the CBI was not getting the approval from Central and State governments. These officials responsible for highest level of graft were not only saved from the clutches of law, but received asylum under the current political set up. Meanwhile, the state CPI is all set to be divided into Telangana and Andhra units on May 23.
