Hyderabad: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is now facing pressure from the newly elected Lok Sabha members, who want to be part of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government.

The race for ministerial berths in the Union Cabinet has begun following the announcement of Naidu that the TDP would join the Modi’s government at the Centre.

According to the TDP sources, the party is likely to be offered four posts -- two Cabinet rank and two Minister of State.

The seniormost members of the party P Ashok Gajapati Raju (Vizianagaram) and N Kistappa (Hindupur), Rajya Sabha member Sujana Chowdary, M Murali Mohan (Rajahmundry) and Rayapati Sambasiva Rao from Seemandhra and Garikipati Mohan Rao (Warangal) and Ch Malla Reddy (Malkajgiri) from Telangana are among the top aspirants for berths in the Union Cabinet.

Party sources claim that since Raju has got vast political experience and is also fluent in English, Naidu would certainly recommend his name to Modi.

The second name for the Cabinet post could be Malla Reddy. According to the party insiders, Naidu may choose Malla Reddy as he belongs to the Reddy community, which has the potential to influence the politics in Telangana State.

From Rayalaseema region, Naidu is likely to opt for Kistappa for the post of Minister of State. Naidu is yet to consider any name for the fourth seat.
