People From AP, Telangana Flying to Iraq in Spite of Crisis. Notwithstanding to the tense situation, as many as 250 Telugus from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are flying to Iraq for work as most of them have already paid Rs 1.5L to agents.
Hyderabad: Notwithstanding to the tense situation, as many as 250 Telugus from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are flying to Iraq for work as most of them have already paid Rs 1.5L to agents. In general, people usually fly to Kuwait and then go by road or take a connecting flight.
During the last week more than 30 people from Telangana and AP were sent from New Delhi to Basra in Iraq on a six month work permit visa despite the severe turbulence there. According to migrants’ rights forums, more 450 people, including 250 Telugus, are being sent to Erbil and parts of Najaf and Karbala.
It is learnt that some migrants travel to Kuwait and go by road to Basra, the second largest city in Iraq. Also, it is learnt that most of the workers go there to try alternative routes and reach the destination somehow.
