Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Saturday promised overall development of the State and make it the best State in the country in the next 10 years. He was speaking at a felicitation function organised by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Offices' Association and the Joint Action Committee of the employees, teachers and pensioners. Naidu said that people had voted for Telugu Desam in the last elections believing in his abilities and experience to build the new State.
The residual Andhra Pradesh had to be built from the first stone and asserted that he would make it one of the world's best capitals and the best State too. However, he sought the cooperation and coordination of the people and employees as well. He further said that he would make Andhra Pradesh a global brand in the years to come.
He promised to consider all the requests made to him by the employees on priority basis and wanted them to work hard along with him in building the new State.
He said he had developed Hyderabad as international city and made it a global destination during his nine years of rule. He further said he had also established Cyberabad city in just nine years and asserted that he would build residual Andhra Pradesh too on the same lines. However, he regretted that he had come to power with an empty exchequer and without a building to house his office. The Lakeview Guest House which was given to the State as his camp office was not suitable to work even for one day as it had turned into a Leakview building with leakages all over, he said.
Referring to the bifurcation of the State, the Chief Minister said that he had asked the Central government to do justice to both the regions by evolving a strategy that would satisfy the people of both the regions. He said people had laughed at him when he had asked for equal justice to both Telangana and Seemandhra, but maintained that his fears were proved correct today. He wanted the people to come out of the pains of bifurcation and find a way to develop the residual State.
The Chief Minister lauded the role of the APNGOs and other government employees during the Samaikyandhra agitation and said he would consider all their demands.
He said he would withdraw all cases filed against them during the agitation and also treat the strike period as leave period extending continuation of their services and promotions. He also promised to issue health cards to the government employees from August 15 and conduct District Selection Committee (DSC) for recruitment of teachers every year. He thanked the employees for playing a key role during the recent elections and helping the TD to win the elections. APNGOs president P Ashok Babu was in the chair. Deputy chief ministers K E Krishna Murthy and N Chinarajappa, Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Kamineni Srinivas, Kollu Ravindra, Palle Raghunadha Reddy and Ravela Kishore Babu, MPs Kesineni Srinivas, Konakalla Narayana Rao and Gokaraju Ganga Raju and legislators and MLCs were present
