Can Kiran Kumar Reddy make a comeback?

Kiran Kumar Reddy, who did not have any leadership qualities became the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh by sending secret reports against all leaders to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. However, when she took the decision to bifurcate the state, surprisingly he opposed her tooth and nail going hammer and tongs. His strong criticism shocked not only opposition parties but even the Congress party leaders as he was branded as Sonia's 'Chamcha'.

Kiran tried highlighting the disadvantages of dividing the state and the consequential problems both states would face. However no one paid heed. Although Kiran launched the Jai Samaikyandhra Party just before elections, people of Andhra Pradesh gave him a shock by siding with parties which preached two-eyed policies and state division.

Former CM Kiran took political retirement but now it seems he is planning to make a comeback by joining BJP. With people of Telangana too coming out of emotions and Andhra Pradesh too realising the effects of state division, reality is dawning upon everyone. Even analysts say that it was Kiran alone who highlighted the problems if the state were to be divided with facts but no one gave him an ear. The question is can Kiran play a key role in strengthening the saffron party if he joins. Will senior BJP leaders in state allow it to happen? Has Kiran developed leadership qualities and learned from experience by now? Let's wait and watch.
