Vijayawada: TDP State secretary Gottipati Ramakrishna Prasad on Saturday expressed his concern over the decision taken by the Telangana State government to conduct Eamcet on its own as it would affect the interests of lakhs of students in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing media persons at the district TDP office here, Ramakrishna accused the Telangana of misinterpreting the Section 95 of the AP Reorganisation Act Section 95.

“Admission to aided or unaided institutions of higher technical education would common for 10 years,” the Act clearly said. It was the responsibility of public representatives and officials to ensure that all the Sections in the Act were strictly adhered to by both the states, he pointed out. The TDP leader said there was no need to set up an expert committee on the issue to take a final decision when it was clearly stated in the Act.

The Telangana State government should not act in a manner which would be detrimental to the interests of students of AP, he said. TDP district youth secretary K Nagendra Kumar, district TNSF president N Nagabhushanam, State secretary N Arun Kumar, leaders Kongara Sai, Adusumilli Sudhakar and others were present.
