Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Municipal and Urban Development Minister P Narayana was at receiving end when the AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his ire over involvement of the bus belonging to Narayana Educational Institute in an accident in Rajahmundry on Sunday which claimed three lives.

Naidu is said to have taken objection for allowing the college bus given on hire for ferrying people for YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy’s deeksha held at Tanuku in West Godavari district.

A visibly upset and worried Narayana could not explain to him. He told the Chief Minister that the bus was on lease and the contractor had violated the lease norm. Naidu reportedly asked him to initiate appropriate action against those who had provided bus to the YSRCP.

Earlier, during the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister also told the ministers that they need to pull up their socks. Improving the revenue of the state is a collective responsibility and the ministers of various departments should follow up with the respective union ministries and see that they get central funds that are due to the state.

He also asked the ministers as to why they were not conducting review meetings regularly with the officials and why they were not responding to the party workers. You cannot afford to ignore the party workers. You have to meet them, hear their grievances and suggestions and take appropriate action, Naidu reportedly told the ministers.

Naidu asked the ministers to stay for one day in their respective districts and tour the other districts during the week. On Saturdays they should be available in Hyderabad. Further, he promised to make himself available more frequently to the MLAs and would also tour different places in the State.
