Speaking to the media, Joint Action Committee leader of the Postal Department Lakshmi Narayana threatened to go on an indefinite strike from May 6 if the Central government failed to meet their genuine demands.

The agitating staff raised slogans demanding justice to the postal employees working in the rural areas, who were facing a lot of problems. Lakshmi Narayana said that the employees of the Defence and the Railways departments were expressing solidarity with the postal employees. Around five lakh employees are expected to take part in the Chalo Delhi programme to be conducted on April 28, he said.
