Hyderabad: Dammalpati Srinivasa Rao, Additional Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh, assured the High Court at Hyderabad that the Andhra Pradesh government will not touch the lands of the farmers who have given consent for the land-pooling scheme to build new capital unless and until it enteres into an agreement with the farmers.

The submission was made before Justice A Rajasekhar Reddy hearing with two petitions by B Hanumantha Rao, a farmer of Malkapuram village in Thulluru mandal, seeking to direct the deputy collector and competent authority for land acquisition not to interfere with his peaceful possession and enjoyment of seven acres for which he had given consent under the land-pooling scheme. It was specifically stated that the authorities have been initiating steps strictly in accordance with provisions of the CRDA and the Andhra Pradesh Capital City Land Pooling Scheme (Formulation and Implementation) Rules, 2015.
