Kakinada: The East Godavari district Rural Water Supply {RWS} department geared up to meet drinking water and sanitation requirements for the smooth conduct of Godavari Pushkarams in July.
The authorities prepared an action plan. Pushkar ghats will be set up utilising a sum of Rs 1.72 crore, according to J Murali, Special officer, Pushkarams.
Temporary toilets will be provided utilising Rs 1.07 crore and an amount of Rs 64 lakh is earmarked for drinking water facility.
The department also decided to construct water fountains spending Rs 44 lakh at various places to cater to the needs of the aged and physically challenged persons.
