During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the Gundlakamma project at Maddipadu mandal and held a review meeting with the officials. He directed the officials to take steps immediately and complete the pending canal works and ensure the supply of water to the ayacut by next kharif season. He said his objective was to make the State free from drought. The Chief Minister said that he would complete the Gundlakamma project and the Velugondla tunnel and provide water for drinking and irrigation purposes.

He lashed out at the YSR Congress Party leaders for creating hurdles in the development of the state. Later, he inaugurated desilting works in Polavaram village of Madlamuru mandal in the district. The Chief Minister said that the TDP government was committed in waiving loans to DWCRA women and added that the government would waive Rs 10,000 for every DWCRA women. He assured the people that he would make Donakonda in the Prakasam district into an industrial hub.

Naidu said the farmers had given up their farmlands volunterily to enable the government to acquire 33,000 acres under the land pooling scheme for the capital city. He denied that land was forcibly taken away from farmers. Coming down heavily on the Leader of the Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for instigating farmers, he said such acts would hamper the development of the state. He said that he would always remain grateful to the people of the East Godavari and west Godavari districts for electing a large number of MLAs.
