Hyderabad: The Vacation Bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday initiated contempt proceedings against various unions of the striking RTC employees of the twin states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.The bench, comprising Justice K C Bhanu and Justice M S K Jaiswal, was dealing with two writ petitions filed by Venkat Rao and Mohammad Ghouse.


It is the case of the petitioners that the governments of both States were not doing enough to end the strike. The bench on Tuesday had directed the employees to call off the strike by Wednesday morning. The bench found that the employees had not called off their strike. As a result, the bench ordered notices under the Contempt of Courts Act.
